Favorite animated film?
I'll have to say Hunchback of Notre Dame and Atlantis.
Hunchback for a dark storyline, good music, and deep themes Atlantis for a fantastic story, great character design, and great worldbuilding.

As far as the standard princess line goes, I'm a big fan of Brave, Princess and the Frog, Mulan, and Beauty and the Beast for their messages and stories. (Or if you're an uuber purist I guess Mulan and Brave don't count? IDK.)
Favorite artistically, is again, Princess and the Frog for the art deco bits-the whole film should have been done that wa~y! Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to love Tiana, she was just. so. boring. Lottie was brilliant, though! (and I swear to Chuck, it's not a race thing, Tia just seemed like a big old wet blanket for most of the movie, and I suppose that was the point-she had to learn to have fun from Naveen, just like he had to learn to be serious, but I wish we could have seen more of her fun side.)
Favorite heroine was Merida for being real-but I can't stand CG animation and the story itself was a bit of a flop. (They really should have went with the original plot! So much more exciting and dark and brilliant!) Blah.
Favorite songs are a tie between PatF and Hunchback. Because unfh. Those songs. No, seriously. Brain breakingly good music, too bad Disney sort of failed the whole race thing there, too, or Hunchback would be much higher on my list.
Overall favorite? Probably Mulan or Lilo and Stitch. Good stories, good animation, catchy songs, inspiring heroines, an early-ish Disney attempt at not being racist/sexist/whatever-ist asshats-brilliant movies as far as the Mouse goes.

Mulan or Hunchback. Mulan for the story, characters, and beautiful animation. They did an amazing job at incorporating elements of Chinese art into the designs. Hunchback for the gorgeous artwork, music, and for having the most developed villain.
